An Australian Friend!

A few weeks ago we had a somebody here for a visit. He is from Australia. His name is Leon. We’ve known Leon over the internet for almost for 15 years now. He was a member of the forum that Bob created over the internet. When we moved here in the Philippines 7 years ago Bob and Leon still e-mailing each other. One thing his been e-mailing Bob is how the dental work here and the cost in the Philippines? Bob told him that it’s cheap and the quality of the job is good too. So he was searching on the internet and found some sites that cater to foreigners. So he asked Bob if we know some dentist here in Davao? Bob told him that we know of a good dentist that we can recommend she’s the dentist of our whole family. So he asked Bob if he could get a hold of our dentist because he wants to send her the x-ray of his teeth so that she could gave him the estimate of how much would he will be spending. So when the dentist got his x-ray she told him how much. He was shocked because it’s just one tenth of the cost in Australia. So he came here and have his teeth done. He stayed here for 3 weeks. So Leon was very happy with the result of the dental work here. He told us he can now smile again.

We took him to Bukidnon to see our Italian friend Fr. Franco. Just like us he also likes Fr. Franco a lot. He also tastes some of the liquor creation of Father Franco. Father called it the LBC, really its LAUREL, BASIL, & CINNAMON. Wow that was really strong even just the smell of it. Father also talked to him about living in Bukidnon, he could tell that Leon likes the place.

We also took him to see our other new friends that has a farm in Bukidnon. Wow that place is really something. Just by looking at the side of the mountain you could not tell that their’s a hidden paradise at the other side of it. It’s really a peaceful place. I told Bob I could retire there someday. I love Samal, but that place is amazingly peaceful and quiet.

Anyway, to Leon thank you so much for visiting here to see us too. We really enjoyed having you over. We really like your friend Flor too. She texted me yesterday. Hope you will visit us again soon.

Hi Lea – I am happy that you like to read and comment on our columns. I hope that you will have a steady internet connection so that you can really read it everyday.

I really love marang. I’m not crazy about the durian, its just okay for me. Have you tasted mangosteen before? I’m like you I like manga with asin too, love it!

Good that you know some Bisaya. I am more of a Bisayan speaker than Tagalog. For me I can’t speak now straight Tagalog, I have to mix a lot of English to it.

Maybe someday the Lord will bring you here to visit the place that you have been teaching before. I hope so!

You take care and keep reading and please feel free to make a comment anytime. God bless!
