elections

Wow its been awhile since I wrote something here. I was thinking of doing some other stuff on this site. As the saying always goes that we woman really changed our mind more often than we ever think of. But I really am wanting to write more often now. I am going to write anything that comes up to mind. It's almost election time here in the Philippines. It's going to be in May this year. Right now I could already hear a lot of the cars or tricycle having the advertisement over the microphone for the candidate they want to endorse. A lot of the candidate not just the one running for the presidents made a song for their slogan. The kids even memorize … [Read more...]

Time to rest!

Well my mom Zosima Rodriguez Bayoy, born on December 26, 1928 in San Fernando Cebu. Passed away last October 05, 2008 at 12:30pm. In Patag, Sarangani Province.  At her bedside was her 6 children and grandkids and son-in-laws. One of her son(youngest son) was in Manila, just arrived from Singapore to visit her. He was just starts working to this new company. Luckily they allowed him one week off to visit mama. It was really hard watching Mama suffer. I think at the end it was really a relief for us seeing her rested already. She's already been suffering from the stroke a few years now. I think just 2-3 years after I get back from the States … [Read more...]

To My Beloved Mom!

My mom is turning 80 years old this coming December. Right now she's really sick. Honestly she could go anytime now. Just 3 years after coming back here to lived for good my mom had stroke. She did recover after that, but she didn't really take care of herself that much that she got ill again. She didn't get better after another stroke. She didn't really listen to the advice of the doctor. Bob and I even hire a physical therapist to come to our house everyday to work on her. My goodness just after a month she fired the therapist. I was wondering why the therapist didn't come that day for her session, so I called her up and told her why she's … [Read more...]

Our Sarangani Farm!

bebe2

During summer breaks of my kids this year, we went to my parents farm in Patag, Malapatan, Sarangani Province. Just less than 30 minutes drive from General Santos City. Its a place where I was born. Patag is a small barrio. I don't even know the population there. This is the first time that my 3 kids went there. They really had fun going swimming with their cousins(Leo, Glenrose, Cyril, Emmanuel, Joshua, David, Nichole, and Sahara. They probably would have stayed on that river for a long time if not that its getting dark. They really like to jump from that coconut tree thats just floating in the middle of the river. As you can see on the picture … [Read more...]

feymamatt1

A few days ago I had the privilege of meeting Mr. Matt Mullenweg the creator and founder of WordPress software that powered this blog and our other blogs and our web magazine Live In The Philippines. He came to the Philippines to attend the WordCamp in Manila and Davao. The organizer is our friend Bloggie. After arriving in Manila, he just stay there for a day and came here to Davao. The WordCamp in Davao is 2 days before the Manila WordCamp. So he hangs around Davao and see some of the nice places here like Eden, Peoples Park and more. Really he is a down to earth guy. He is easy to get along with. We had the privilege of having dinner with … [Read more...]

Hang out!

A few nights ago the Bisaya teacher of Bob Bebe invited us to go and hear the music of one of her student. His going to perform live at Kangaroo Coffee shop. The show will start at 8pm. After Bebe was teaching Bob, the sessions ends like 6pm Bebe told us that she had to go home and feed her kids and she will come right back at our house before 8 o'clock for the show. So in between that time me and my nieces prepared our dinner too so that when we go to the coffee shop we will have our dessert there. Bebe was true to her word she came back at our house before 8. She waited a few minutes at our house because me and my nieces are not yet ready. While … [Read more...]

A good seminar!

Seminar at the Martin House

Two days ago Bob had a seminar here at our house. Supposed to be it should be held at one of the function rooms at K1. Needless to say K1 didn't even know we existed when we went there the day before to check everything out. Luckily Bob decided to checked it out before the seminar. It would be embarrassing going there and we are not booked. My goodness I called them up a month ago to booked the seminar. I told them and explained to them what room I want. They said okay. Luckily no one was booked on the date that we said. So that thing was solve. Then Bob ask them if we could try to hooked up his laptop to their plasma TV? They said sure, you … [Read more...]

Frank’s aftermath!

flooding

Last week the Philippines was hit by a bad typhoon. It leaves a lot of people homeless and causing a lot of death. A ship that sail from Manila bound for Cebu didn't make it through the trip. The ship sank in Romblon, an island in Southern Luzon. The sad part the ship's captain didn't bother to just tell his big boss that his ship can't sail due to typhoon. Passengers board the ship without knowing that bad weather is coming. Some people I think blame the coast guard why they didn't bother to stop the ship too. Lot of the family of the passengers now are really mad at the ship owner. Honestly I can't blame them. They are frustrated right now … [Read more...]
