Schedule Time, it’s more fun in the Philippines!

I’m using the slogan of the Philippines right now, “it’s more fun in the Philippines.” Why? It just dawned on me of whats going on with us a couple of weeks ago. Almost a month ago our daughter Jean told Bob and I that she found a gown that she likes for their Junior prom. Bob and I saw how she really liked the gown, you can just see it in her eyes. So the next day I told … [Read More...]

A mother’s disappointment

Over a year ago I posted about our helper here that has a teenage daughter from her previous marriage. The second husband of our helper tried to touch the daughter of our helper. After a few years of living here the dual citizenship was already approved. Bob’s been on me to apply … [Read More...]

Squash pancake everyone!

Well, Thanksgiving is over and yet we are dreading on what to do with the leftover pumpkin puree. Luckily Bob was so resourceful in finding new recipe for me to cook. One of the recipes he got was about was a pumpkin pancake recipe. Since we don’t have pumpkin here in the Philippines, we just have squash here. Really we have pumpkin here in a can, imported from the States. And it costs a … [Read More...]

Sad ending of the year!

It really is sad to end the year right now. I am talking about what happened in Northern Mindanao just a few days ago. I was really shocked. The Cagayan de Oro & Iligan were caught off guard in the early dawn a few days ago when Typhoon Sendong hit Mindanao.  The storm passed right over Davao, but we got only a day of moderate rain, no real problems.  but, Cagayan and Iligan were … [Read More...]
