Valentines Day aftermath!

Wow, we really are busy during Valentines day. Our agents all over the Philippines did finish up delivering till 9pm. Our local courier also was busy delivering our packages that we just ship and was ship few days before and they are holding it for us to deliver on the 14th. Grabe ang order sa roses. We are really pleased with the outcome.

It’s really a big day here in the Philippines during this day. The restaurant are packed, also the park. They just open a new park here in Davao. We pass by during valentines day it was loaded with people. I’m glad though that no incidents happened. Unlike the previous years that their was a bombing during valentines day. I’m glad that people get to celebrate with their love ones.

Me and my hubby we didn’t go anywhere for a date. We have to help our people here on our business. We always celebrate later. Still we had fun though. Oh well, that was quiet a day for us. The kids had fun opening their presents and card. Thats the one that matter the most. They are happy.

Hope you guys had a wonderful valentines date. Save up for next year. 😉

Sad news!

A few days ago I posted a story about the older lady that was riding a motorcycle. Her son was the one driving and she’s the passenger. I said on my post that she was brought to the hospital by the police. The police turn out to be the the brother-in-law of our friend. Yesterday I went to the house of these friend I was talking about and I asked them if they heard from their brother-in-law whose a police about whats the status of the lady that got the accident. My friend said that those people the lady and her son was a neighbor of their friend. My friends friend said that the lady died the next day after the accidents. She really had a bad head injury. My heart really goes out to those family. I wasn’t shocked that she died, but seeing her there at the scene makes it hard for me not to think of her.

I heard now that the son was trying to overtake some car and he went out of control. Thats why when we saw them they are already in the other side of the road. I ‘m sure the son felt bad about it. While seeing him at the scene of the accident he was already screaming and calling his mom. We told him not to move his mom around because we didn’t know she might have a neck injury or something.

I hope that those people that saw them learned a lesson to really wear a good and proper gear to ride the motorcycle. It did open my eyes a lot not to let my family ride motorcycle without good helmet and shoes.

To the lady may you rest in peace.

Raining again!

It’s been a few days now that it’s raining here in Davao during day and night. It’s nice that it is raining for days because the temperature is cooler. It’s nice to just stay home and get comfy. The only bad side when it rained here as if everything will stop functioning. Like I had a worker before that she texted us that she can’t come that day for work because its raining hard and she just didn’t feel like working. My goodness we told her that the bill will not going to stop coming to your house because its raining. We have to pay our bills rain or shine. She was mad that we didn’t let her have a day off that day. Really she was just tired in going to work because she went out with friends the night before. She chose to quit than going to work.

Since it’s raining everyday our kids likes it. They had a blast showering in the rain. They really like to  play basketball and play in the trampoline in the rain. Our dogs like to run around too with the kids. Usually it rained here during night time, but lately its day time too. It is a pain here when it rain in the day. Its going to be bad traffic due to road will be flooded. Just fifteen minutes of rain here the road is going to be filled up with water. Thats the one thing that I hate when it rain here. Hopefully the drainage will be fix soon.

Cleaning time!

A few weeks ago I was thinking of hiring some people like a janitor to clean our house thoroughly. Don’t take me wrong our house is already clean, but just want a professional to do it. Sort of like to be spotless.

So I have my niece called up one of the janitorial place just not that far from our house. The lady at the other line said that she wants to see our house for her to make an estimate I said okay. An hour or so later the lady showed up and look around for a few minutes.

I was in the shower when she showed up. So when I was done putting my clothes on I went out to see and talk to the lady. Then I ask her how much do you think your charging me for this job? She immediately said 20 thousand pesos. I asked her again I thought I might not heard her right, she said 20k. I told her wow, thats a lot of money. She said I could bargain a little bit with her boss. I already knew that the bargain here would be just minus a thousand if lucky I could get 2 thousand off. I just didn’t bother to call up the boss because I would never pay even half of that price they quoted me. That’s a ridiculous price and I don’t even know who will pay here for that price.

sala1.jpgThe next day me and my family starts cleaning our house ourselves. My family said that they will just do it to help me and to really cut the cost. They even help me without asking for payment. They also think that the estimate is too high of a price. Really all the friends here were shocked when I told them about my encounter with the janitorial services. They told me they will never hire those people. So in reality those people really lost out some extra business from me and my friends. My friends will tell their friends not to used them. Word of mouth is difficult to beat. It’s their lost not mine though.

Anyway, now we are just cleaning our house with the help of my kids and my family. I do hope that those people from the janitorial services would learn that the way they handle their business is really driving customers away.

An eye opener!

Yesterday, Bob and I together with some of our friends heads up to Father Franco’s place. He wants to continue our Thanksgiving celebration from last week here  at our house to his place yesterday. The group all planned to just meet up here at our house since we are the one that know the place of Father Franco. Bob, Me and our 2 friends rides on our car and our other friend and his family was behind following our lead. We were just 10 to 15 minutes away from our house we saw a motorcycle spinning out of control. I thought at first that it was just one person riding. As we get closer to the accident we found out that their were two people there. The guy was driving and it’s his mom in the back. The driver might be on his 30’s the mom might be in her mid 50’s. The sad part the mom is not really wearing the proper gear to ride the motorcycle. I think she’s wearing the cheap helmet and not wearing shoes. Gosh, seeing here lying on the ground bleeding it makes might heart ache for her. I really do hope and pray to God that she will get better. The thing that worries me she’s bleeding from her nose and some came out also from her ears.

I called up 911 for them. Luckily there was a police that pass by and stop to help us get this lady to the hospital. As soon as the police get there we decided to leave. As soon as we got to Father Franco we asked him to say a prayer for the lady and her son. One of the police was the brother-in-law of our friend. The place where the accident was its hard to get help there because not much people pass there especially during early morning and weekend.

Honestly it was hard for me sleeping last night. I keep on thinking about that lady. I just can’t keep her out of my mind. I’m really hoping that she won’t suffer too much. I hope she doesn’t have internal injury, I think she hit her head in the concrete. I hope I’m wrong on that. Anyway, I ask you all to pray for her.
